Tom has 35 years of marine risk experience from both the underwriting and broking side of the market. His previous experience includes positions as Senior Vice President, Member of the Executive Committee and Head of leading marine insurer Vesta Marine & Energy. Subsequently he was Senior Vice President of merger projects, reinsurance and strategy at Gard. He has been a Chairman of the Norwegian Market organisation CEFOR, a member of Det Norske Veritas’ Council, a member of the Board of claims agency Scandinavian Marine Claims Office, a Deputy Chairman of the Norwegian Brokers’ Association, and had a significant role in developing the maritime incident reporting system SAFIR. In 2001 he was a Founding Partner, Managing Director and Chairman of Edge Norway (formerly NorthEdge). Since 2014 until the sale of the company to Lockton in 2021 he was the CEO and later Executive Chairman of Edge Group Holding AS.
